The Farm

Twin Pines Alpacas is home to a large herd of Huacaya Alpaca raised for fleece production.  Quality fibre production starts on the farm.  Annual harvest of fibre & feed keeps farm operations busy year round.  The spring fibre harvest occurs only once per year and supplies the mill with the raw fibre needed to produce textiles.  The summer harvests of orchard grass hay are needed to feed the Crew year round.  Herd health, breeding programs, animal husbandry practices and pasture management all contribute to the ability to product quality alpaca fibre for the mill.

The Mill

The Mill is located on the farm and is where we process our annual fibre harvest. Our mill utilizes a full suite of fibre processing equipment to transform our alpaca fibre into finished goods. Quality alpaca products are designed and processed from the annual fibre harvest which has been carefully sorted & graded to determine best use.  We optimize our milling equipment to produce quality alpaca fibre ready for the finished product.  Our mill produces a variety of textiles including yarns, rovings, batts, felted items and duvets.

Store v1.jpg

The Store

Our Country Farm Store is our retail space offering our locally grown, designed & milled alpaca products as well as a variety of imported alpaca goods. Each season

we curate & design our alpaca yarns of various styles, weights and blends which are known for their   unique colourways, heathered & tweed effects.  Our farm store also offers a wide selection of rovings, alpaca duvets, felt insoles, felt supplies, notions & patterns and imported alpaca goods.

Products are available in store or at festivals each year.

The Studio

Studio 65 is  our production studio where creativity and design meet, and are an important part of what we do to keep things 'fresh'. The studio is where new ideas can emerge, incubate and develop into new yarn styles & colourways.  The studio is also where we take the time to plan, develop and test new patterns and introduce new products for fibre enthusiasts and shoppers alike for the upcoming year.  Of course, the studio is also where we play with our looms, needles, wheels and hoops to enjoy the versatility of alpaca fibre.
